- The position I have been entrusted to hold is the finest mission you can think of. Eight years as President is however a long time, so it is time for me to do something else, says Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson.

Exactly what Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson will do after the Congress in June is not yet known. However, he wants to continue to work in the trade union movement and he will complete his international trade union commitments. Until the Congress in June 2020 he will be the President of LO.

- Striving to ensure improved working conditions for LO members is what I focus on every day. By coordinating the unions in their work for better pay and decent work conditions. By urging investment into sound welfare and an equal and just society. Everything in order to make ordinary people’s life as good as possible, says Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson.
