On 16 March, 2009, Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt met with the social partners prior to the EU Spring Summit. On this occasion, LO President Wanja Lundby-Wedin delivered a letter calling to use the Swedish EU Presidency to restore the Swedish model.
It is a matter of guaranteeing collective agreements in the Swedish labour market in the future. Therefore we hope that the Government will assume the responsibility to urge changes in the entire EU, needed to secure equal treatment of workers and to create balance between trade union rights and economic freedoms, stated Wanja Lundby-Wedin.

We thus assume that the Government will change its approach to a social progress protocol and a revision of the Posting Directive, said Wanja Lundby-Wedin.
