| International issuesLast week, the Swedish Riksdag voted to ratify the ILO Convention No. 189 on Decent Work for Domestic Workers - a triumph for LO and all affiliates. Together with several other organisations, LO has strived unrelentingly for the ratification to become a reality. Now that this is finally happening, Sweden's legislation can be strengthened for those who work in someone's home. Thus Sweden can in a concrete way contribute to providing the most vulnarable workers in the world with decent working conditions and hence better prospects.

The future of the Global Deal is ensured
| International issuesRecently we heard the news that the Global Deal Partnership will be taken over by the OECD in Paris, with the support of the ILO. Thereby the future of the initiative of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven is ensured. With nearly 100 actors, consisting of companies, trade unions and countries, adequate conditions now exist for the Global Deal to become a genuine resource for development and to contribute to long-term sustainable economic progress and decent working conditions for workers worldwide.

Why Sweden needs entry agreements

Job and Education Initiative for better labour market introduction
| Labour marketSweden has a skills shortage. At present Sweden has a gap between those who have and those who do not have good knowledge and skills. Growing knowledge gaps are a consequence both of problems in the Swedish school system and of a high level of refugee immigration over several years.
