Common position of the Swedish Trade Union Confederations on the future of the EU

International issues The European Commission has presented a White Paper on the Future of Europe, the purpose of which is to promote discussion on the future shape and areas of EU cooperation. LO,TCO and Saco welcome the Commission’s initiative for inclusive and broad discussion on the shaping of future EU priorities and development.

This position paper summarises our opinion regarding the policy focus needed, in order to promote coherence and an EU that benefits all citizens and leads to increased equality and social progress. It discusses different aspects from the White Paper and three of the related reflection papers that we consider being of particular interest from the trade union point of view.
