Legislate to remove general fixed term employment contracts

Employment conditions There must be objective reasons for fixed term employment contracts, which requires that general fixed term employment is removed from the Employment Protection Act.

It is time to abolish day labour – where people are employed hour by hour. This is what the LO Congress resolved on 18 June.

The LO Executive Council wanted to remove insecure fixed term employment contracts through negotiations between the parties and through agreements. However, the Congress majority took the line of the proposers of the motion and called for an amendment to the Employment Protection Act.
